Advance seat reservation

Do you prefer sitting by the window on your flight, enjoying the great view without obstruction? Or would you rather sit by the aisle so you can stretch your legs every now and then? You can select and reserve your desired seat for your Discover Airlines flight directly during booking or at check-in.

If you would like to make or change your reservation later, you can easily reserve your seat in the My Bookings section.

Business Class seats on an A330

If you have booked a package holiday, this is possible either free of charge or for a fee, depending on the booking conditions. You will need a Lufthansa Travel ID for this. Click here to sign in or register. In your Travel ID account, you can add your booking using the organizer’s booking code and then make an advance seat reservation. The booking code of the airline is not required. Alternatively, please contact our Service Center.

This applies to package holidays from the following companies: TUI, Dertour, Schauinsland, Alltours, FTI, vtours, Olimar, ltur, LMX, Anex Tour, Aurum Tours, Bentour, ETI, FERIEN Touristik, Coral Travel, Lufthansa Holidays, Flamingo Tours, Frosch Sportreisen, pepXpress and Weloveholidays as well as their respective subsidiaries.

If you have booked a package holiday through another provider, you can select your seat on the online check-in system 23 hours before departure. If you have already received the six-digit booking code from Discover Airlines with your travel documents, you can reserve your desired seat in the My Bookings section.

Please note that an advance seat reservation for so-called full charter flights (recognizable by a four-digit flight number starting with “2”, i.e. 4Y 2xxx) is only possible through the tour operator. In these cases, please contact your tour operator or your travel agency directly, as the Discover Airlines Service Center does not have access to advance seat reservation.

The fees for advance seat reservation depend on the segment and can also depend on the ticket price, the frequent flyer status and the flight route. The price for the different seating categories varies depending on the length of the route. Prices may change at any time.

  • The flight reservation is confirmed (no waiting list reservations)
  • Advance seat reservation is possible no later than 52 hours before departure

Please note that having a confirmed advance seat reservation does not constitute a legal claim to a specific seat on board the aircraft (e.g. seat 3A). It refers solely to the selected category (e.g. standard seat, seat in the preferred seating zone, seat with extra legroom). One advance seat reservation is valid per flight segment.

As soon as the check-in for the flight in question begins (usually 23 hours before departure), you can select from any seats still available free of charge if the fare conditions permit. Please note that in these circumstances, the selection may then be limited. We recommend that you reserve your seat as early as possible. In the event of changes to the cabin or aircraft, Discover Airlines reserves the right to replace an advance seat reservation with a different, comparable seat.

Below you will find the seat maps for the various types of aircraft used by Discover Airlines. You can also find out from the seat maps which seats fall into the Extra Legroom category, offering you at least 10 cm more space in Economy Class.

Seat variants

When making an advance seat reservation for your Discover Airlines flight, you can simply and easily choose between standard seats, a seat in the preferred seating area or a seat with extra legroom. Our highly comfortable seats in the Extra Legroom area offer you up to 10 cm more space in Economy Class. Free of charge or for a fee, depending on the fare you booked.

Seats for children

With Discover Airlines, flying on vacation with your family will be a pleasure. Infants under two years of age can of course fly on their parents’ lap, secured with a loop belt. From two years of age, children travel on their own seat (subject to a charge). At Discover Airlines, our small passengers also travel at a discounted price.
