Additional baggage
Economy Light fare
Did you book the Economy Light fare, but your snorkel and beach towel won’t fit into your carry-on baggage? Simply add an item of checked baggage to your booking. Alternatively, you can book an additional item of checked baggage via the Discover Airlines Service Center, at the check-in counter or, in the case of a package holiday, via your tour operator.
All other fares
If you would like to check in an additional item of baggage in addition to the free baggage allowance in your booked fare, you can book this via the Discover Airlines Service Center, at the check-in counter or, in the case of a package holiday, via your tour operator.
Price overview for baggage
You’ll find a price summary for additional baggage, excess and special baggage in the baggage calculator. You can also use the baggage calculator to check how much baggage you are allowed to take with you by route and by travel class or fare booked. Please provide your flight information and select Discover Airlines as your airline.
You can access your baggage receipt and baggage status easily on your smartphone via your mobile boarding pass immediately after you have dropped off your baggage at the check-in counter or baggage machine.
The baggage receipt is sent as a push notification in the Lufthansa app and/or by email. It can be used as the basis for searching for your baggage if your baggage is lost. After the one-time notification, your receipt will also be stored locally in the Lufthansa app so you can view it at any time.
