FAQs and answers about the Travel ID

General information

The Travel ID gives you access to the Lufthansa Group Airlines and Miles & More digital channels.

By activating Miles & More for your Travel ID, either when you register or (after a few weeks) in your Travel ID profile. Once you have done this, you earn miles and Points when you book with your Travel ID or provide your Miles & More service card number at the time of booking.

Registration

Your password must be different from your username and must not have been used before. It must also consist of:

  • at least 8 characters
  • at least 1 upper case letter
  • at least 1 lower case letter
  • at least 1 number
  • at least 1 of the following special characters: §!"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<>?_@\

Probably because a Travel ID account with your email address already exists. Only one account can be created per email address, so you need to use a different email address to register.

Alternatively, you can reset the password and use the existing account.

Your Travel ID activation link is valid for 24 hours. To get a new activation link, you will then need to re-start the registration process.

Please check your spam folder. If you do not find an e-mail with the activation link there, please re-register.

Login

Before you can log in with your Travel ID, you need to click on the activation link. You can find this link in the email sent to the Travel ID email address you have provided.

Click “Forgot password?”, enter your Travel ID email address and follow the process.

Depending on what type of Travel ID you have (with or without Miles & More), you have the following login options:

  • without Miles & More: Travel ID email address and password
  • with Miles & More: Travel ID email address and password or service card number and PIN

Your profile may not have been activated yet.

If it has been under 24 hours since you registered, please check your mailbox and spam folder. You will find an email with the activation link in one of these. If it has been over 24 hours since you registered, please re-register and activate your Travel ID using the link that we will send you by email.

Yes, in the future you will be able to log in to all Lufthansa Group airlines. These include Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and Discover Airlines.

Lufthansa iD was switched off on 31.01.23. Lufthansa iD has been replaced by Travel ID. If you missed out on this information, please create a new Travel ID.

If you have any active bookings, you can add them to your Travel ID profile under My Bookings.

Your airline ID has been deleted. Please register again for the Travel ID. If you have any active bookings, you can add them to your Travel ID profile under My Bookings.

User profile

Firstly, please add your new email address to your profile under “Contact Information”. Confirm the change using the activation link that we will email to you. Go back to your Travel ID profile and drag the confirmed email address to the top of the list.

No, you can only add one frequent flyer program to your profile. If Miles & More is already activated for your Travel ID, you cannot add another frequent flyer program.

Only one email address can be stored in a Travel ID account. If you have created several Travel ID accounts, you need to delete any unused accounts. You can then add this email address to your active Travel ID account.

Data protection, advertising and deleting accounts

You can delete your Travel ID account in your profile under “Your profile information”. If you have a Travel ID with Miles & More and you want to delete both accounts, you first need to cancel your membership in the Miles & More program. Please contact the Miles & More team to do this.

You can unsubscribe from receiving marketing communications by changing your preferences in your profile under “Communication settings”.

You can object to the use of your data by deactivating the “Consent to personalized communication” in your profile under “Communication settings”.

We attach particular importance to data protection. The Lufthansa Group does not sell customer data and will not pass the data on to third parties.

Your Travel ID is personal to you. To avoid it being misused, you should avoid sharing your login information with others. We also recommend this in our data protection guidelines.

Flights and bookings

The booking is automatically shown in your Travel ID profile when you make the booking while logged in to Lufthansa.com or in the Lufthansa app. You can also add a booking to your account at a later date.

Log in to Lufthansa.com using your Travel ID. Click on your name on the top right of the screen. A field appears, then click on “My bookings”. This allows you to access your bookings and add your bookings there.
