Passengers requiring wheelchairs
Destination airports and Discover Airlines will provide assistance to passengers with wheelchair needs with boarding and disembarking, both on the non-gate position and on board. Please notify us of any assistance you require before your flight, either by telephone via the Discover Airlines Service Center at +49 (0) 69 86 798 200 from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., or online:
To ensure that you receive the best possible assistance, please inform us of your assistance needs up to 48 hours before departure.
The following services can be booked:
- Wheelchair assistance to/from the departure gate (WCHR) - If you are unable to walk long distances, but can mount the steps to the airplane.
- Wheelchair assistance to/from the airplane door (WCHS) - If you are unable to walk long distances or cannot mount steps, but are able to move around the aircraft.
- Wheelchair assistance to/from the airplane seat (WCHC) - If you are unable to walk.
Transporting your own battery-powered wheelchair
To book the transportation of your own battery-powered wheelchair, please send the request form below to specialservices.discover-airlines@lufthansa-group.com (opening hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 08:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). We will check whether it is possible to transport your power wheelchair based on the information you provide.
