Terms and Conditions for the first and second baggage items as well as each additional baggage item during check-in.
First baggage item: Passengers with an Economy Light fare who have not yet purchased a baggage item prior to check-in may book one baggage item for a fee during check-in.
Second baggage item: Passengers in the Economy travel class can book a discounted second baggage item on certain routes.
Every additional baggage item: All passengers can book additional baggage for a fee during check-in. This applies to all routes.
Add baggage during check-in
The following requirements must be met:
- The passenger has a confirmed booking (no waiting list).
- First/second baggage item: A baggage item may not exceed a total size of 158 cm (width X + height Y + depth Z) and a weight of 23 kg.
- Every additional baggage item: For passengers in the Economy and Premium Economy travel classes, the baggage item may not exceed a total size of 158 cm (width X + height Y + depth Z) and a weight of 23 kg. For passengers in the Business travel class, the baggage item may not exceed a total size of 158 cm (width X + height Y + depth Z) and a weight of 32 kg.
- If more than one passenger is booked on the same ticket, one baggage item can be added individually for each passenger.
- The passenger checks in online no later than 2 hours before departure.
Terms and Conditions
- The first and second baggage items as well as any additional baggage items can be booked on Lufthansa Group flights. This applied to flights operated by Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti.
- Only the first baggage item and each additional item of luggage can be booked on flights operated by Air Dolomiti.
- After payment, the baggage costs will neither be refunded nor offset.
- There may be a refund or change to the booked service if the fare conditions permit a refund or change..
- In the event of an unintentional ticket change or refund, the booked service can also be refunded or changed.
- In the event of an upgrade to a higher fare, the booked service can be refunded.
Exceptions to baggage purchases
- Baggage purchases during check-in are limited to five baggage items. If more than five baggage items are to be booked, the passenger can contact the service center or purchase them at the airport.
- Baggage that exceeds the permitted size and/or weight will be treated as excess baggage and cannot be added during check-in. If a baggage item exceeds the permitted size and/or weight, the passenger can contact the Service Center or purchase baggage of the correct size at the airport.
