Register sports baggage

We will check availability and make the booking for you. We will notify you by email if booking your sports baggage is not possible. If the booking is successful, you must pay the fees incurred at the airport (at check-in).

Fishing equipment

  • Book by no later than 72 hours before departure (otherwise, please contact the service center up to 24 hours before departure).
  • Only available on flights operated by Discover Airlines.
  • Maximum dimensions (height + width + depth): 200 cm
  • Maximum weight: 32 kg
  • A maximum of 2 bags incl. 1 bag with 1 fishing rod and 1 bag with fishing equipment
  • Lufthansa Express Rail: carriage at your own risk, no reservation possible.

Bicycles

  • Book by no later than 72 hours before departure (otherwise, please contact the service center up to 24 hours before departure).
  • Only available on flights operated by Discover Airlines.
  • Maximum dimensions (height + width + depth): 280 cm
  • Maximum weight: 32 kg
  • Bicycles must be packed in a sturdy protective cover or appropriate bag (e.g., cardboard or hard plastic).
  • No engines or e-bikes permitted.
  • Lufthansa Express Rail: not permitted

Tandems

  • Maximum 1 bag: 1 tandem with max. 2 seats or 1 special bicycle (e.g., recumbent bicycle)
  • Maximum dimensions (height + width + depth): 350 cm

  • Maximum weight: 32 kg
  • Bicycles must be packed in a sturdy protective cover or appropriate bag (e.g., cardboard or hard plastic).
  • No motor scooters, mopeds or e-bikes (incl. pedelecs) permitted.

Golf equipment

  • A golf bag can include: a set of golf clubs, golf balls, golf teas and a pair of golf shoes in a single package (all items must be stored in the golf bag).
  • Not permitted: battery-powered golf trolleys

Shortboards

  • Maximum length: 200 cm

Skis or snowboards

  • One pair of skis or one snowboard.
  • One bag with a pair of ski poles, a pair of ski/snowboard shoes and a helmet.
  • Maximum length: 200 cm
  • Maximum weight: 32 kg
  • The carriage of ski/snowboard baggage is limited depending on the type of aircraft.

Diving equipment

  • Only available on flights operated by Discover Airlines.
  • Maximum dimensions (height + width + depth): 200 cm
  • A maximum of 2 bags incl.: 1 bag with an empty oxygen bottle & 1 bag with 1 pair of diving goggles, 1 snorkel, 1 pair of flippers, 1 diving suit, 1 buoyancy compensator (diving jacket), 1 breathing regulator and 1 lamp
  • The baggage must comply with the regulations covering ​Dangerous goods.
  • Flashlight (LED or regular): battery must be stored separately in the carry-on baggage and secured against short circuits.
  • Engine-powered compressors for filling gas cylinders are prohibited.
  • There may be carriage restrictions on certain types of aircraft.
