Discover Airlines is the Lufthansa Group's quality leisure airline in Germany, flying travelers from Frankfurt and Munich to the most beautiful holiday destinations in the world. A cutting-edge product tailored to the needs of leisure travelers and the crew’s welcoming service, make flying with Discover Airlines a real pleasure. Since the summer of 2021, Discover Airlines has complemented the Lufthansa Group's offering in the growing segment of leisure travel. Guests benefit from an end-to-end booking process and seamless transfers at the Frankfurt and Munich hubs as well as at many global destinations of the Lufthansa Group and its partner airlines. Discover Airlines is headquartered in Frankfurt, currently operates a fleet of 27 aircraft and employs around 2,000 people. The flights can be booked on discover-airlines.com, via all booking channels and websites of the Lufthansa Group, and in travel agencies.

Our fleet
High range, high passenger capacity and high efficiency – Discover Airlines relies on a combination of the Airbus A330 on long-haul routes and the Airbus A320 on short- and medium-haul routes. The Discover Airlines fleet consists of 27 aircraft in total—13 Airbus A330s and 14 Airbus A320s.

Offset flight emissions together
We are always looking for new ways to reduce and offset flight emissions. To achieve this, we are working together with partners such as Compensaid and myclimate who represent more sustainable travel. All Discover Airlines flights can be carbon offset during the booking process on lufthansa.com. In addition, we offer all passengers the option of offsetting their flights on board.
Green Fares
With the “Green Fares” more sustainable flying gets easier and is available for all customers on the Lufthansa Group owned booking channels. Green fares enable guests to fly more sustainably through the combination of Sustainable Aviation Fuel purchasing (reduces 20% of individual CO2 emission) and a contribution to high quality climate projects in the amount of the individual related emission tracked (offsetting of 80% of individual emission).

It's a match: Discover Airlines and NFL team Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter into partnership
Just in time for the start of the new 2024/25 NFL season, Discover Airlines and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are announcing a marketing partnership: the Lufthansa Group's leisure airline that connects Germany with Tampa Bay every day. And the Buccaneers, or ‘Bucs’ for short, the American football team from Tampa Bay, which plays in the National Football League (NFL) and has been successfully expanding its activities in Germany for years.

Marco Goetz becomes the new Chief Commercial Officer of Discover Airlines
On 1 September 2024, Marco Goetz will take over the position as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Discover Airlines. He succeeds Helmut Woelfel, who left the company at the end of August. In his new role, Marco Goetz is responsible for the commercial activities of the airline like revenue and network management, as well as customer experience and servicing.

Discover Airlines expands fleet and introduces new product on long-haul
Discover Airlines receives additional aircraft and drives forward the harmonization of its fleet. This also includes a gradual, complete renewal of the product on the Airbus A330 fleet in all three travel classes from 2027.

Summer 2025: Discover Airlines to offer new destinations and more flights from Frankfurt and Munich
Discover Airlines is launching new connections throughout Europe from Frankfurt and Munich next summer and is increasing popular routes, including to Greece and Bulgaria. New additions, not only for Discover Airlines but for the entire Lufthansa Group, are Ålesund and Bodø in Norway.

Discover Airlines and Verdi agree on collective labor agreements for cockpit and cabin
Discover Airlines and the trade union Verdi have agreed on collective labor agreements for the almost 500 cockpit and 1,400 cabin employees. The collective labor agreements apply from July 1, 2024, and are valid until December 31, 2027.

Premium menu for pre-order: Discover Airlines expands its Economy Class offering
The leisure airline is now offering its Economy Class guests on short and medium-haul flights the option of pre-ordering a premium menu. The menu – breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the time of day – is served on porcelain tableware.

Discover Airlines wins German Brand Award 2024
The Discover Airlines brand was not even a year old when the leisure airline was presented with the German Brand Award in the main category “Excellence in Brand Strategy & Creation” twice at a festive ceremony in Berlin this Thursday. In the category “B2C Brand Strategy” and in the category “Brand Strategy of the Year”, the rebranding strategy developed with Scholz & Friends impressed the judges.

March 2025: Discover Airlines opens long-haul base in Munich and significantly expands its programme
Discover Airlines is significantly expanding its operations at Munich Airport in the coming year and is adding long-haul destinations to its existing short and medium-haul services. The airline will be basing two Airbus A330s in Munich from March 2025.

In winter 2024/25: Discover Airlines launches first non-stop connection from Europe to Tulum
The leisure airline is adding a very special destination to its route network for the upcoming winter flight schedule: Discover Airlines will then be the only airline offering nonstop flights between Europe and Tulum, Mexico. The Aeropuerto Internacional de Tulum Felipe Carrillo Puerto has only been opened last December.
