Why Ibiza

The best club scene in the world: Ibiza is an absolute haven for electronic music. Almost all the big names in techno and house regularly visit the island and really bring the parties to life.
Pure relaxation: Ibiza may be party central, but it also has a relaxing side. The numerous spas and yoga retreats allow for recharging too. Ever tried yoga on a paddleboard in the sea?
Beautiful scenery: Although the island isn't very large, it has four vegetation zones. Densely wooded forests, secluded bays, or rugged cliffs. Which one will you explore first?

  • Cala Bassa: your dream beach in the west
It’s no surprise that this bay on the West Coast is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the island. Turquoise water and white sandy beach? Say no more. The wooden pier also makes it easier for children or people with disabilities to access the water.
    Cala Conta: fascinating underwater world
Cala Conta, also on the West Coast, is a great spot for swimming during a family vacation in Ibiza, as the beach slopes gently into the ocean. The exposed bedrocks of the bay make for an ideal snorkeling spot while the offshore rocks make for a great view!
Cala Salada: spot for nature lovers
Nestled in the pine forests to the north of the island is Cala Salada. The rocky path to the bay can make it a bit challenging to access, but it's worth it for those who prefer quieter, less crowded beaches. It's ideal for a romantic getaway in Ibiza.
  • The most exciting outdoor activities
Who would have thought that Ibiza is not just a beach destination, but also a hiker’s paradise? Seasoned hikers would especially love the wild mountain region of Es Amunts. There are also numerous trails along the coast that make it perfect for a hiking vacation.
    Traditional vineyards
Is there anything more idyllic than a stroll through vineyards filled with juicy grapes? Probably not. Conveniently, Ibiza has a long wine-growing tradition, featuring unique native grape varieties. Make sure to include a wine tour in your visit. It's wine o'clock!
    Spectacular caves
Think impressive caves are only in Mallorca or Menorca? Think again. Ibiza also has stunning stalactite caves such as the Cova de Can Marça on the north side of the island. This spectacular sight features stalagmites and stalactites illuminated in various colors!
  • Authentic club experience at Amnesia
Ibiza is home to many legendary clubs that promise unforgettable nights. Amnesia is possibly the most famous and authentic, featuring two massive rooms, a VIP area, and even an ice cannon.
Glamour, glitter, and an unforgettable night at Pacha
Pacha is a staple of Ibiza's party scene. As one of the oldest and most glamorous clubs around, the regulars know what to expect. This is certainly the place to let loose and wear that daring outfit you've been saving!
Luxury by the sea at Ushuaïa
Ushuaïa is one of the most famous clubs in the world, and for good reason. It is located right on the party hotspot Playa d'en Bossa. You can live the high life and party into the early hours right by the sea. Sleep? That’s for the next morning! For a luxurious adults-only vacation, stay in the exclusive hotel next door!

1. Beautiful ending

What better way to end a day than with a beautiful sunset? In Ibiza, there are plenty of bars and restaurants where you can sip delicious cocktails while watching the sun dip below the Mediterranean Sea. You will also find some of the best sunsets at beaches like Benirrás or the Sunset Strip in San Antonio!

2. Ibiza from the water

Want a fresh perspective of the party island? Far from the hustle and bustle of the party scene, you can find hidden coves and secluded beaches. Rent a boat and head out on a hunt, or consider visiting the neighboring island of Formentera. For a truly exclusive experience, you can charter a yacht. With a larger group, this can cost as little as 150 euros per person.

3. Feeling of freedom on a jet ski

Ibiza stands for freedom and a hippie lifestyle like no other Balearic Island. And what promises more adventure than a wild jet ski ride? Several jet ski companies in Ibiza offer adrenaline-filled tours on the water!

4. Must-See: Dalt Vila Fortress

The Dalt Vila fortress majestically overlooks Ibiza Town from a hill, a definite must-see. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it boasts thick walls surrounding a small town, complete with a church and houses within the complex. It's perfect for a Sunday stroll!

5. Hippie feeling at the markets

In the 1960s, hippies from all over the world settled on this Mediterranean island, contributing to the sense of peace and freedom of the island. You can still see their influence at the hippie markets, like the famous Punta Arabí in the northeast. With over 500 stalls, you can buy everything from handicrafts to fashion to traditional foods, all while enjoying live music and a great atmosphere!

Getting around

There are many ways to explore the island of Ibiza. The most relaxed and flexible option is certainly to rent a car or scooter. These are available at the airport and in every larger city center. A slightly more expensive option is a taxi; just make sure to use an official company. Insider tip: Water taxis! Especially in the port of San Antonio where you can hop on a taxi boat and explore the island. Ibiza also has good and reliable bus connections.
Buses run several times a day from Ibiza Airport to various destinations. The same goes for taxis, but it's best to book in advance, to avoid shortages and long waits. What’s holding you back? Book flights to Ibiza with Discover Airlines!

Do's and Dont's in Ibiza

Do wear sunscreen:
The sun is kind to Ibiza, shining for an average of 12 hours a day in summer. However, this also means that if you want to avoid a painful sunburn, you should definitely use sunscreen.
Stay at only one place:
Yes, Ibiza is not the largest island. Nevertheless, there's so much to see so consider moving about at least once, no matter how great your hotel complex is.
The famous omelet:
Who doesn't know the famous Spanish potato omelet, also known as a tortilla? It’s especially delicious at a grocery store in the village of Santa Agnès de Corona. Give it a try!
Go to a club before midnight:
Spaniards are night owls. They usually don’t eat dinner until 9 pm, and parties in clubs don't usually start before midnight. But you can dance until the morning!
Take care of your belongings:
Pickpockets are unfortunately very present, especially in nightclubs and larger cities. Therefore, carry valuables in a bag close to your body – or better yet, leave them at home.
Book early, party cheap:
Admittedly, the entrance fees to the notorious clubs in Ibiza aren’t exactly cheap. However, you can save a lot of money by taking advantage of the early bird tickets available for most parties.
